MESSAGE ANCHORED BY THE GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT.
TOPIC: A READY PROVISION FOR THE WEAK TO DO EXPLOITS.
ACTS 1:8; LUKE 24:49; ACTS 1:4-5,8; MATHEW 26:41; JOHN 20:19; HEBREWS 11:32-34;
Here is the very word of JESUS Christ to His own disciples, after His resurrection from the dead and before His ascension to Heaven. He said, But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. The disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ have been following Him now for about 3 and half years, and these disciples have learnt a lot, they have seen a lot, they have heard a lot, and they had received a great commission that they will go forth, and go out and preach the gospel, the whole gospel, the full gospel the entire gospel, the mighty powerful gospel, to the whole of the world. The Lord had challenged them and He had reminded them that, there will be difficulties, that there will be opposition, there will be persecution, but in the midst of it all, the commission had been given to them, that they will publishes, they will proclaim, they will preach the saving gospel to the whole world, starting in Jerusalem where He had been crucified, and then they will go forth to all Judea and they will get to Samaria, and then go beyond those borders and territories and get to the uttermost part of the earth. But then, He said they should wait, they shouldn't go yet, you would have thought He will tell them, move on immediately, rush out immediately, get the Jobs started so you can finish in time, but He said, wait in Jerusalem until ye be endued with the Power from on High. The power Christ was telling His disciples to wait for is very important and very significant, that they will not rush out without this enduement power from Heaven, He said that they will not rush out without the fulfilling and the indwelling of the Holy Ghost, He said, but wait for the promise of Father. And then you understand they were coming to the new experience, and so He said, for John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized, immersed, dip and emboldened inside the Holy Ghost. The disciples of Jesus Christ were weak and they could not fulfil their calling without this important, essential, indispensable power, and the influence of the Holy Ghost. He told them before His betrayal and before His Crucifixion, that they should watch and pray, that they enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. They were willing to serve God but they were weak, they were willing to preach the gospel, they were willing to take the gospel out and reach the whole world with power power, with confidence and with assurance, but they were inside closed door for fears of the Jews, they couldn't go out in that fearful, in that timidity and in that cowardly disposition. So you understand why JESUS Christ was telling them to wait in Jerusalem until they are filled with the Power of the Holy Ghost. They must receive the power, so that boldness will come, and Authority will come to them, it's that kind of power that will launch them on and launch them forward for the gospel. Holy Ghost makes the weak strong, and He will make you strong, the Holy Ghost makes the weak bold and courageous, and uncompromising and visionary and fearless and faithful to the One who Has called us. Old Testament servants, out of their weakness, they were made strong and the Lord is applying the same thing to us and for His disciples, and to everyone of us today, out of weakness to be makes strong .
✔️ Gideon was weak but empowered by the Spirit. Judges 6:13-16,34. He was weak in himself, he was weak in the great commission the Lord committed into his hand, but he was strengthened by the Spirit.
✔️ Jephthah. Judges 11:29. He was weak, and then he eventually got the victory by the power of the Holy Ghost upon Him.
✔️ Samson. was weak, but by the Spirit of God, he did exploits. Judges 14:5-6; 15:14. all the people that did exploits and great things in the Old Testament, and then in the New Testament, they did everything by the power , by the infilling, by the indwelling and by the enduement of the Holy Ghost.
✔️ we also see David. 1 Samuel 16:13. He was weak, but strengthened by the Spirit of God. The Philistines thought they've got the children of Israel, but they were able to defeats Philistines by the power of the Holy Ghost upon David. All these people were weak in themselves, but their power, their authority came from the anointing of the Spirit.
Micha 3:8; 2 Peter 1:21.
All these prophets and all those great men and women that God used in the Old Testament under the Old covenant, they were saved, they were forgiven, they became righteous, and not only that, after that initial righteousness that came through forgiveness, they were Holy in heart, they were holy in their minds, they were holy in their spirit and in their souls, and they were endued with the Power in their dispensation. That's how they did what they did, that's how you will do what you will do when that Holy Ghost come upon you. But the Lord told His own disciples that they must wait for the enduement of the power. The disciples were weak, and after the enduement of the Holy Ghost, they became strong.
POINT ONE: THEIR EVIDENT WEAKNESS BEFORE THE ENDOWMENT ("YE").
ACTS 1:8.
Jesus Christ said, but ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. He's talking to His Own disciples, that after they receive that Power, they will be His witnesses in every part of the world.
What are the evidence weakness of the Apostles before they were endued with the Power of the Holy Ghost?
✔️they were saved, but they were weak. John 17:14-16; 16:12. they were separated from the world, and now the Lord was praying for them to be free permanently from their evil, they were obviously saved, but they were weak, though they were saved, but all the same, they were weak in their receptivity.
✔️ They were sure that Jesus Christ is the very Son of God, and He's the Christ, but they were weak. John 6:69; 20:19. In spite of that assurance, they were weak, their fearfulness shows they were weak.
✔️ They were selected, they were chosen out of many people that followed Christ, these ones were selected but they were weak. John 15:19; Matthew 26:56. They were selected from among the followers of Christ, they had a great privilege, but they were weak. When Judas Iscariot came to betrayed Christ, they couldn't confront Judas Iscariot who has been with them for 3years, when they saw what was happening, they fled. Although they have been chosen and selected yet they ran away after Judas Iscariot betrayed Him, that's why JESUS Christ said, they were weak and they needed to tarried in Jerusalem until they are endued with the Power of the Holy Ghost.
✔️ They were sincere that Jesus Christ is their Saviour, and in giving all their promises to follow the Lord, even to the point of death, but they were weak. Matthew 26:35-36. All of them said, they will died with Christ, but when the real challenge came, they took to their heels.
✔️ They were surrendered unto Him, they left all, they fully surrendered unto the Lord, soul, spirit and body, but they were weak. Luke 18:28,34; Mark 9:32. They absolutely, completely, fully surrendered unto the Lord, but they were weak in their understanding although they surrendered all, but they were so weak in their hearts and in their minds.
✔️ They were sanctified, but they were weak. John 17:17; 16:6-7. the Lord had prayed for their sanctification and they were sanctified, but yet they were weak because the Power of the Holy Ghost has not come upon them.
✔️ they were serving the Lord, and already He has sent them forth two by two to preach, to heal, to cast out devils, to cleanse lepers, even to raise the dead, they were serving but they were weak, and it was in view of that weakness they had, inspite of everything they had got, they were weak. Luke 17:7-10; Mark 14:37-38. They were dutiful, yet they were weak, and so you understand why the Lord is telling us there's a work to do that can only be done in the strength and in the might of the Holy Ghost, and even though we are saved, even though we are sure of our ticket to heaven, even though we are certain that He has chosen and selected us, even though we are sincere in our services, and in prayer, in everything we do, even though we have laid everything on the altar, yet, we are weak to do everything He has called us to do, that's why He said, tarry ye in Jerusalem until ye are endued with the Power of the Holy Ghost, and He said, but ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
POINT TWO: THE EXPECTED WONDER OF DIVINE ENDOWMENT (SHALL RECEIVE POWER).
ACTS 1:8; MICHA 3:8; LUKE 24:47-49; ACTS 2:36-42; 4:7-13,31-33.
The endowment of the Power of the Holy Ghost is very important, and when you're filled, you will be so fill that you will open your mouth and strength and power and authority will come out, you will not just be preaching bread and butter, you will not be saying what people want to hear, but you will preach what they don't want to hear, you will boldly tell them that sin drags people to hell fire. You will tell them boldly that, the smallest of sin, the greatest of sin, all sinners, young and old, if there's no repentance, they are going to go to hell, tell them that God is of purer eyes to behold iniquity, and whosoever shall call on the Name of the Lord shall be saved, when you're fill with the Holy Ghost, you will declare unto all nations their sins, and their iniquity, there are people that and power from beneath, those are the ocultic people, they had power from the ocean, those are the Marine worshippers, they had power from the forest, from the down below, but the Power from above will crush the power from beneath, and you will be able to declare the sin of the people unto them. that power is coming, power to convince the hardened sinners, Peter the Apostle did what he couldn't do in 3 and half years, you're going to do it when this new power come. You will do what you have not done, those people that came unto the Lord when Peter preached to them, they didn't backslide, they received the gospel, they accepted JESUS Christ, they were born again, and they continued, your time has come. Peter was filled with the Power of the Holy Ghost, and not just once, in the presence of these terrorising leaders, he was filled again, he could never speak like that before, but when he was filled, he spoke boldly. Your boldness will make people marvel, your courage will make people marvel, and your stand will make them tremble.
There was remarkable difference after the personality of the disciples was baptized in the Holy Ghost, before the baptism, they had power to heal, but such power without courage will not convert the world, they had power to heal, but they were fearful, and they were staying inside closed door. The power you feel, the power you carry while you lock the door against yourself for fear, that power can not preach the gospel, the power you have to heal when you're timid before the people, that power cannot cast out demons and it cannot do anything, but now, power had come and that power could make them to go out boldly and face the sinners.The Holy Ghost endued them, and endowed them with power.
What did Holy Ghost brought to the disciples after they received power?
✔️ They had power to confront sinners, they were not talking to sinners and looking to the opposite direction, but in the front of sinners, they spoke boldly, they were not talking to sinners and wishing and wondering when a time will be over and they will sink away into their corners or in to their home.
✔️ they had Power to call sinners to repentance, and that calling to repentance actually took root in the heart of those people and they gave themselves to the Lord.
✔️ they had power to preach courageously despite persecution, they arrested them and put them in prison, and they came out of prison and they declared the same word they were preaching before.
✔️ power to convict Satan's captives. Acts 13:6-12. Paul was not afraid to look at the face of persecutors, he was filled with the Holy Ghost and what he didn't have in the note, but the mighty sentence, and the mighty proclamation, he said was fulfilled immediately. This power will come upon you, power will flow out of you, the time has come, the Lord will fulfil the prayer of your mouth, and whatever you binds on earth shall be binds in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven,.
✔️ they had power to continue. by unbroken, and unshaken persecutors, they continued.
✔️ they had power to penetrate gentile nations where Christ had never been Named. The people that have never read the Bible, the people that had never heard the Name of Jesus Christ, Paul the apostle went to them and their eyes were opened and they believed that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and they saw what they had never happened through Paul the apostle. We are going to start in a new way, with new power, with new courage with new anointing and with new breakthrough IN Jesus Name Amen.
✔️ they had power to cover and conquered the Land. Acts 17:10. They covered the land and they conquered the Land with the Gospel. Your time has come.
POINT THREE: THE EMPOWERED WITNESSES DOING EXPLOITS. (AFTER THAT THE HOLY GHOST HAS COME UPON YOU, YE SHALL BE WITNESSES UNTO ME IN JERUSALEM, IN ALL JUDEA, IN SAMARIA UNTO THE UTTERMOST PART OF THE EARTH.
ACTS 1:8; MATTHEW 24:12-14; ACTS 3:15,26; 4:4,18-20,33; 5:28-32; DANIEL 11:32; ISAIAH 52:1-2.
They were saved, but weak, they had this wonderful of divine endowment. Eventually, as you read Acts of the Apostles, mighty miracle tool place in Jerusalem, in chapter 3. Mighty Mircle took place in all Judea in chapter 9, and in Samaria, mighty miracle took place in chapter 8, and in the uttermost part of the earth in chapter 14 and in chapter 28. Everything here in verse 8 was fulfilled in those disciples and Apostles, you can just wake up in the morning and read Acts chapter 1:8 for a whole week, and claim it and say, "Lord, this is mine". And then, Holy Spirit afresh will come upon you, power of the Holy Ghost afresh will come upon you, and you'll be His witness in your community, and among those who do not know the Lord power will come upon you, He will anoint you, He will empower you for the preaching and all that you need to do, you will do in this generation. You will be preaching to the end, the Apostles always counts their converts in thousands and thousands, now, it's our time, our time has come to always counts our converts in thousand and thousand. That power will come upon you, and you will talk like you never talked, you will preach like you never preached, you will manifest boldness and Authority like you have never done, you can rest assure in the power of the Holy Ghost like you have never done, if they tell you to stop, you will continue, if they tell you to shut up, you will open your mouth and preach, if they tell you not to preach again, you will begin afresh and be preaching, and we will fill every city of this nation with the word of God. Peter, James, John and the rest of the Apostles, they were preaching the word of God, and they were pointing at the people that, they killed JESUS Christ, but the rest of the church, they were so fearful and covering their mouth with their hands, today, there's so much fear in the church generally, that people cannot stand up on the corner of the street and talk to people, but we will go, we will preach, we will announce JESUS Christ, the great commission will be fulfilled, the word of God will be preached, souls will come into the Kingdom of God, new power will come upon you, new strength will come upon you, the anointing of the Holy Ghost will be multiplied upon you,
Expoilts in waking those who are sleeping, exploits in preaching the gospel, exploits in saving souls and healing the sick, exploits in casting out devils and overcome strongholds, exploits in reaching and running after souls and enduring with courage, and bringing souls into the Kingdom of God, I am of that number, you will be of the Number In Jesus Name Amen. You will shake off every kind of weakness that might remains in you, you will shake off any kind of timidity that might be in your life, you will shake it off today, you will be strong and do exploits, and every plants that God has not planted in your life, in your soul, in your spirit, in your family, and in your ministry will be uprooted.
Enough of powerlessness,
Enough of fear,
Enough of timidity, shake it off, everything that God has not brought into your life shake it off, and anywhere you are coming from, go and manifest Power that do exploits.
