TOPIC: THE HOLY GHOST POWER
TEXT: ACTS 1:4-8
Key Verse: "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth" (Acts 1:8).
Stella was a friend of Jesus, but she was very shy and timid. She loved to go out for evangelism, but she always felt too shy to talk to people. One day, she attended fellowship and the topic was on 'Holy Ghost Baptism'.
The pastor told the congregation that the Holy Spirit made people bold to preach the gospel and speak in tongues. Stella knew she must ask for the baptism in the Holy Ghost so that she could have power and boldness to preach the gospel. She prayed earnestly and she was baptized in the Holy Ghost.
The next day, she went out with her friend on evangelism, and she boldly preached the gospel to some children in her neighbourhood, and two of them got converted. The Holy Ghost empowers friends of Jesus to do great things for God.
Have you been baptized in the Holy Ghost? As a friend of Jesus, ask God to sanctify your heart and then earnestly pray to receive the baptism in the Holy Ghost. God will baptize you and equip you to do great things in His name.
Sinners should repent of their sins then accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour; then ask for a pure heart before they can pray for the Holy Ghost baptism.
Prayer: God, please fill me with the Holy Ghost power and help me to win souls for Christ.
