TOPIC: DO NOT REVENGE
BIBLE TEXT: ROMANS 12:19-21
Key Verse: "Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good" (Romans 12:21).
Grace is a friend of Jesus. She was very brilliant in school and other children became envious of her. They gossiped about her and told lies against her. But Grace was not bothered; instead, she continued to do good and preached to them. They were surprised that she never fought back. So, some of her classmates went to her and asked why she never revenged. She explained to them that Christ commands His children never to do so. Then, she led them to Christ.
Our text completely condemns rendering evil for evil, but encourages overcoming evil with good like Grace did in our story. You should love others, including your persecutors; by doing so, you will win them to Christ. Never try to revenge because vengeance belongs to God. You must love God and be kind to those who hate you.
Prayer: Help me Lord to overcome evil with good.
