TOPIC: RUNNING THE HEAVENLY RACE
TEXT: 1 CORINTHIANS 9:24-27
Key Verse: "Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain" (1 Corinthians 9:24).
In our schools, most of us want to participate in our yearly Inter-House Sports. There are different sporting activities like 100 meters race, relay race, sprint, sack race, long jump, and many more. There is a prize for anyone who comes first in the events.
The kingdom of heaven is likened to this Inter-House Sports. We are running a race to meet our Redeemer in heaven. Every Christian child is enlisted in this spiritual race to heaven, but only those who faithfully run to the end will obtain a prize or a crown.
Unfortunately, some believers fall by the wayside through disobedience, stubbornness, worldliness and failure to listen to God's Word. You must run the race with your focus on Christ and Heaven, to make it.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to run the heavenly race to win the crown in Jesus' Name.
