DEEPER CHRISTIAN LIFE MINISTRY
SINCERE MILK: Children Daily Devotional Guide 2020
THURSDAY 3RD DECEMBER,2020
TOPIC: ABIDE WITH US
LUKE 24:29-32
Key Verse: "But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them" (Luke 24:29).
Jesus had died. This was very sorrowful for His disciples. It was also the talk of the town among all the people in Israel and the nations around them.
But, the news came that Jesus was alive again. This was the current puzzle and talk among His disciples. He met two of them on the way to Emmaus, discussing the same thing.
Jesus cleared their doubt and fear through a gentle rebuke and explanation from the scriptures: *that Christ would rise again the third day, after being killed and buried.
After this, the two disciples were concerned about Jesus safety because it would soon be night. Not knowing that He was Jesus, they compelled Him to stay with them for the night. His stay was a blessing.
If a one-night stay of Jesus could be such a blessing, what about your choice to make Him abide with you forever? Accept Him as your companion in life now. You cannot make it alone. Jesus loves His own to the end.
Prayer: Jesus, I believe that You rose from death, after being killed and buried. Abide in me and with me as my Lord.
