TOPIC: THE TRUE MINISTER'S DELIGHT IN THE WILL OF GOD.
TEXTS: PSALMS 40:8-10. ACTS 13:22, 36
NOTE :This Psalms 40 we are reading tonight is a Psalms of David, it is applicable to the Lord Jesus Christ and it's applicable to David the writer. David said he delight to do the Will of God. This is his testimony and his commitment to declare the faithfulness of God and His salvation. And he's speaking on behalf of JESUS Christ and he's speaking on behalf of every believers as well; Jesus Christ wants to find a man that will be after the mind of God, who will fulfil His will. The Lord has called us and He want you to do the Will of God, that you will serve your own generation with all your mind, He want you to make up your mind to fulfil all His will. The commitment to do the Will of God is that you'll serve your own generation with all your skill and with all your ability. That Whatever else you do, you'll be pointing on that, that you're at the center of the Will of God.
#POINT ONE CHRIST'S DELIGHT IN THE WILL OF GOD.
PSALMS 40:7-8, HEBREWS 10:7-10.
The Psalms sometimes refers to two personality:
I. Present.
II. The one to come.
It has a double application, one for David and one for the Son of God in the New Testament.
I. First and Foremost satisfaction in God's will .
Hebrews 10:7,9, John 4:31-34, 5:30, 6:38-40.
His first and foremost satisfaction is to do the Will of God, as we are following Christ as a child of God, we are not here to fulfil our own pleasures but the will of God like Jesus Christ came to do the Will of God. He taketh away the first that He will establish the second, what satisfied Him is the bread and the water of life, His satisfaction is not to do His Own will. If we are followers of Christ, we will not do our own will but the will of God will prevail. That's why He pleases the Father everytime, your life will be a Joy on earth that please God.
II. His Faithful and fruitful sacrifice as God's Will.
1 Corinthian 5:7-8, Ephesians 5:2-6.
Jesus Christ came to offered Himself for our Salvation. He came to give His life as our substitute and our sacrifice. All those old sacrifices are waiting for the fulfillment of the New Testament sacrifice and then He came, He's the Final and faithful sacrifice. His sacrifice finalized everything, He was faithful and He passed that to us, that we should fulfil the will of God, you must sacrifice your talent, your profession and everything to do the Will of God.
III. His full and final submission to God's will.
Luke 22:41-44, Isaiah 50:5-6,Hebrews 12:2-4, Philippians 2:5-8.
The Father didn't forced Him, He willingly gave His life as a result of his pleasure in delight in the Will of God. As we look at Christ, His sacrifice will not be totally Joyful because He was in Heaven for all eternity and Angels worships Him, the Angels are going to miss the worship, and He came to this world to do the Will of God, He was hated by Pharisees, false witnesses came, it's not an easy thing to do the Will of God, but He submitted Himself. So as we want to do the Will of God, maybe in marriage or in ministry, it might not be easy to do the Will of God, but you must be committed to do the Will of God. There are some areas in the Will of God that you will not be able to fulfil the Will of God then you give up, until you pray like JESUS prayed before you can fulfil the will of God.
JESUS Christ fed five thousands people in the wilderness, and He wrought many signs and wonders and miracles, but that's not the main will of God and that's not the final will of God, His final will is to give Himself for the Salvation of souls, and that wasn't easy, then He have to kneel down and pray for the Grace of God to fulfil His final will, there are times you need to pray like that before you can fulfil the will of God. Jesus Christ prayed to fulfil the final will of God and He did it, that's why we are saved and sanctified, and He's passing that grace to us, you will go through every rough road IN JESUS Name Amen.
#POINT TWO: CHRISTLIKE DEVOTION TO DO THE WILL OF GOD.
PSALMS 40:8, JEREMIAH 31:33, ROMANS 13:1-2.
If we are Christians, we must have Christlike example.
I. Purposefully Discovering God's will from Heaven.
2 Peter 3:9, John 1:13-13, 1 Peter 4:1-4, John 7:17-18, Galatians 1:4,15-16.
If you're not looking up to heaven, you will never discover the will of God, if you're not looking up to heaven for Salvation, you can never be saved, if you want to get saved and you're asking people who doesn't know the ABC of Salvation and Sanctification, you will never discover the will of God. You need connection from heaven if you're going to fulfil the will of God and discover His will. God's will is that everyone will be saved, the very first thing you know in God's will is Salvation. Any other things must not contradict that Salvation. Anything that will take you away from Salvation, from repentance, whatever it is that will make you corrupt and go to the path of destruction and lost forever, that is not the will of God, you must disconnect yourself from that. God's will is that you are saved and Sanctified and baptized with the Holy Ghost
You must be a decisive man that will want to do the Will of God, it's Only that He will reveal His will to you. If you're going to know the will of God, you must be willing to do it, and it's then He'll reveal to you His will. If you want to do the Will of God in marriage, you must be ready to do accept who He gives to you, if He tells you who you'll marry, and you're ready to accept, that's when He'll reveal His will to you.
II. Persistently Doing God's will from the Heart.
Ephesian 6:6, Colosians 4:12, 1 John 2:15-17, Hebrews 13:20-21, Matthew 6:10, Psalms 103:20.
We cannot do the will of God with superficial, shallow attitudes. If you want to do the Will of God, you must be focused on it and you must be determined that you will do that will persistently. Many people do not understand that, if you're going to do the Will of God persistently, you must do it from your heart, as it's done in Heaven. The model and the pattern we should do the will of God on earth, is at it's done in Heaven.
How do the Angels do the Will of God in Heaven?
✔️ Angels do the will of God promptly. If we are going to do the Will of God, we must do it promptly from our hearts as Angels do it in Heaven.
✔️ Angels do the Will of God wholeheartedly. They are not absent minded, they do it wholeheartedly without hesitation and without delay.
✔️ Angels do the Will of God Completely. The Lord is telling us to be committing ourselves, and to be persistently doing the Will of God completely from the depth of our hearts.
✔️ Angels do the Will of God Fearlessly, they were not afraid or timid to do the Will of God, but they are courageous, that's how we are commanded to do the Will of God. As you've received the Will of God in ministry, and you're permitted by the Lord to do it, you should do it fearlessly and courageously.
✔️ Angels do the Will of God Always. We should be committed to do the Will of God always as Angels do in Heaven.
✔️ Angels do the Will of God Purposefully. We must be purposeful.
✔️ Angels do the Will of God Immediately
✔️ Angels do the Will of God Completely. Without any reservations.
✔️ Angels do the Will of God Sincerely, there's no pretence, no hypocrisy and no cover up, but sincerely, transparently they do the will of God, no patching up, it's the work of Grace in our hearts that we do the Will of God sincerely as it's done in Heaven.
III. Perseveringly Defending God's Will in Holiness.
1 Thessalonians 4:3-8, Luke 1:74-75.
There maybe challenges, but you must defend God's will in Holiness, that's what we should do and practice and demonstrate, we must demonstrate and practice Holiness in life and for life. Enemies will not derail you and they will not destroy your destiny IN JESUS Name Amen.
#POINT THREE: COURAGEOUSLY DECLARATION OF THE WORD OF GOD.
PSALMS 40:9-10, 71:15-18.
I. Persuasively Preaching God's word to Gentile Generations.
Acts 15:14-18, 13:43-49, 26:17-20, Ephesians 4:17-24.
God want all gentiles to hear the Gospel of Salvation and turn to Christ. Our Nation and all over the world are gentile Generations, Christ want the word to be declared in the gentile Nations because He want to take out of that gentile people His Holy People, this is the time of the gentile, we should preach everywhere, and after that the Rapture takes place, the Lord will return back and build again the tabernacle of David which is broken down. That's why we should go and proclaim the word there. Christ has given us commission to carry out, we should do it effectively and with all our Heart. You're not an accident, your destiny is written in the palm of God. As you obey the word of God, it shall be well with you.
II. Publicly Proclaiming God's will in General Crusades.
Isaiah 58:1-2,59:7-8,12,16, Luke 1:77-79, Acts 16:17,30,34.
We should organize crusades, and raise up our voices and show the religious people their transgression, and as we show them the way of Salvation, they will respond and give their lives to Christ. Go into the Open and declare that, they will repent and turn away from sins. The Lord will use you more and more, and More of the Spirit of God and His Anointing shall be bestowed upon you IN JESUS Name Amen.
III. Personally Pursuing God's Will before the Great congregations.
Galatians 1:4,15-16, Acts 21:12-14, 1 Thessalonians 5:18-24, Psalms 40:7-8.
It's the Will of God when you're saved and delivered from sin and from Satan, and from the power of evil spirit. And God is going to put you at the very center of His Will, that you will serve Him in the Will of God and you will personally pursue His will. You will not doubt, you will not derail, as He calls you, you will rise up immediately and you will do the will of God as you ought to do it.
The Lord has opened to us today about our calling, that we will be at the center of the Will of God, all things are written concerning us that we will do the Will of God. The Lord has written His word on the table of our hearts and He has accomplished that. He want to see you delighting in that will everyday and let the word of God prosper in your heart and do the will of God for all eternity..
