TOPIC: FIRST FRUITS
TEXT: LEVITICUS 23:9-14
Key Verse: "Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come into the land which I give unto you, and shall reap the harvest thereof, then ye shall bring a sheaf of the firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest" (Leviticus 23:10)
First fruits, as the name implies, is the first harvest of crops from the farm. The children of Israel were commanded to offer their first harvest to God as offering in appreciation of God's wonderful blessings. God sent rain to water the ground and to make the plant grow and bear fruits.Their offering, therefore, was an acknowledgement that the fruit of the ground came from the Lord. The first fruits were to be consecrated to the Lord, which points to the New Testament believers' dedication of their lives to God.
As you begin a new year, you are called to give God the best that you have. He has kept His promises and blessed you through the past years. Therefore, give Him all that you have. Give your life as a living sacrifice which should be holy and acceptable unto God. Also, surrender your Treasure, Time, Talents and Tithes to Him. He will bless you more abundantly.
Prayer: My God and my Father, I surrender my life to You as my first fruit.
