ELOHIM
GENESIS 1:1-9
KEY VERSE: "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" (Genesis 1:1).
In the original language in which the Bible was written, Elohim means God. It occurs more than 2,250 times in the Bible. Next to Yahweh, Elohim is the major title of God. The first mention of the name Elohim (God) in the Bible is in Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth."
The name refers to God's incredible and awesome power and might. He is the one and only God. He is the Supreme and True God in a world that promotes many false gods and religions. God is the only one on whom we can fully rely. God is sovereign, we completely trust Him. He is the Mighty One over all nature, this world and Heaven above. He is our Creator, who works wonders by His hands.
God shows us that He is Elohim every single day. His amazing power is at work every sunrise and every sunset in the way He holds the stars in the sky and carries us, His people, through difficult times. Honour the name of God, do not take His name in vain. There are abundant blessings for you through Elohim
