DEAD TO SIN, ALIVE UNTO CHRIST
BIBLE TEXT: ROMANS 6:8-14
KEY VERSE: "Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:11).
When a child becomes a friend of Jesus, it is expected that he will do away with everything sinful. Sin should no longer reign in his life. Just as a person who is dead can no more eat, drink, talk or engage in activities like the living, so should a Christian be dead to sin and alive unto Christ, and sin no more. This means that your body should be dead to sin and your spirit be alive unto God. Your old life of sin is forsakened and now replaced with a new life of holiness and righteousness.
Is this your testimony? If yes, then preserve your salvation as you read the word of God every day. Make prayer a daily routine, fellowship with other believers, and live your life to please God only. If your answer is no, you must repent of your sins today, ask God to forgive you and wash your sinful heart with the blood of Jesus, and receive Jesus to be your personal Saviour and Friend; you then go free and sin no more.
PRAYER: Lord, let not sin reign in my body. Amen.
