TOPIC: STANDING IN THE GAP

TEXT: EZEKIEL 22:29-31

Key Verse: "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none"(Ezekiel 22:30).

Since the fall of Adam, the whole human race has been under the dominion of Satan. This is why we have widespread wicked activities going on everywhere. It does not matter the age, race or even religion. All men, women, boys and girls were sinners in the sight of God.

However, God was not happy that the people He created in His own image rebelled against Him. Thus, He sent His Son, Jesus, to die for our sins so that we can be set free from the bondage of sin. He is merciful, loving and compassionate. He is not willing that anyone should perish, but that we should all come to repentance.

Therefore, God has always sought people who would stand in the gap and lead sinners back to Him. In every generation, He has often raised up people to intercede for others.

He found Noah, who stood as a witness of God's grace for his generation. He also found Abraham, who interceded for Sodom and Gomorrah. He found prophets and even ordinary folks, who willingly stood in the gap for others in their own time.

God, because of His love, is still seeking today, boys and girls who will preach the gospel and pray for sinners to be saved. Will you follow the footsteps of Isaiah who received the call of God and said "Here am I; send me"?

Do not wait, you too can be a soul winner and an intercessor today. Start from your immediate neighbourhood, and the Lord will reward you abundantly.

Prayer: Dear Lord, give me burden for soul winning, and to intercede for others.
