MESSAGE ANCHORED BY THE GENERAL SUPERINTENDENT.
TOPIC: PASSION FOR SOULS.
MATTHEW 16:26; MARK 8:36; LUKE 9:25.
The word of God says, for what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
✔️Passion for your Own soul to be saved and of your soul to keep save.
✔️ Passion for the souls of members of your Family to be saved. What shall it profit you if you gain the whole world and lost the soul of your wife or the soul of your husband or the soul of any of your children. What will you give in exchange for the souls of your own family?
✔️ the souls of your friends and your neighbours to be saved. What shall it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, he's so busy about the things of the world, he's so busy about business, about money about education, about whatever that he does not think of the souls of the people around him, his friends, his neighbours, his classmates, his coworkers, or people that are very close to him, what shall it profit a man if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul, or what shall a man give in exchange for lost souls?
✔️ what shall it profit a minister, a preacher of the word, or a soul winner, if he gained the whole world, think about the ministers rally together, gathering together all the people in the community, but he's not preaching the truth to them, think about a minister, a preacher that lose the whole of his community, and the whole of the city ran after him and he can keep all that city as a congregation, and yet because he's sinner friendly, and he's not going to tell them and preach the real truth word of God so that the people will make him popular, what shall it profit a minister, if he were to gain the whole world, even all the people or the world, and yet in the process, he compromises, and he loses his own soul? There are people that concentrate and they focus their lives on a goal to make money, his goal is to get the things of the world they wants a house, they wants mansion, they wants every places, and what shall it profit a business man or anyone if he were to able to gain all the property in the world, and he lost his own soul?
There are people that are always looking for advantages and profits, what if you had all the advantages, advantages in politics, advantages in prosperity, in popularity, advantages in everything and in the process, you lose your self, you lose your life, you lose your goal, and you lose your mind and your future, and then be a cast away? Matthew, Mark and Luke recorded this that, what shall it profit you if you gain the whole world and then you lose your soul?
✔️ It's good to evangelize, but think about your own soul, are you saved in the places you go? in the contacts you make? In the things you do? In the connection you have? In your life? Do they take the watchfulness over your soul away you? Does somebody uplift profit, prosperity and the gain in your sight and the promise they give you does that derail you that you're not thinking of your soul anymore, and in your working for God, are you so intent on success, on progress, on wanting to gather people together for your profit? What shall it profit a pastor, if he were to gain the whole world and then he loses himself, and he throw himself away, and then he's cast away? That's why Paul the Apostle said he brought his body into subjection so that after preaching to others, he will not be a cast away. I pray, we will not be a cast away IN Jesus Name Amen. While we are preaching, while we are labouring, while we are ministering, we are still watching over our souls so that we will not perish, but now, the closest person to you, your spouse, your children, you're thinking of your childrens making it in life, but what shall it profit a father, a mother, if the child will gain the whole world, if he gains all the education in the world, if your
child gain all the property of the world, if he gain all the education, all the position, all the power and all the recognition in the world and then the soul of that child is lost? There are people that have great great ambition for members of their church, in politics in high position in the world, and so what will it profit you if the member of the church were to gain the whole world and those members lose their souls, what will you give in exchange for the souls of your members?
✔️ there must be passion for the people that hear you.
✔️ there must be passion for the new converts SD we reach out to them, we are not actually after their money, we are not after their position, we are not after anything they have, but we are after their souls to be saved, and this is the passion the Lord is requesting and requiring from us, that we run after them, we preach to them, we pray for them, we fast for them, we do everything so that they will come out of sin and come to Christ the Saviour, and they will be kept in Salvation.
Passion is very important, passion produces passionate people, when you have passion, you will be seen as a passionate person,
å passion Compelled Moses to delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt, he forsook all the rewards he could have had, because he was passionate.
å it was passion that moved David to save Israel from the Philistines, it was passion that made the man David focused to deliver the nation of Israel from the enemy the Philistines.
å Nehemiah was a passionate man, he forsook all the luxury of the palace, and he reached out to his people and prayed and fast and he seek opportunity to reach them. Passionate Nehemiah forsook everything so that the Glory of the nation can come back again.
å think about passionate Jeremiah. He was a weeping prophet.
å Think of Ezekiel, he was pleading with the children of Israel to get themselves saved.
å it was passion that drove Paul the Apostle to seek the Salvation of the lost and the highest price and the highest sacrifice. His life wasn't everything that he was considering first,his life was to be passionate and reach out to the people and to get them save, that's the passion the Lord requires of us.
There are Passionless People,
How do we describe the Passionless People?
I. They are cold, they can see people perishing, but they are cold, what they want in life and what they are aiming at in life is number one thing to them, they are cold when it comes to savings souls.
II. They are Lukewarm. Even about their own souls, if they had revelation and vision that Christ is coming tonight, they will still be lukewarm, that will say it may not happen, they are not sure of their salvation and they are not willing to do anything to be very sure they are ready for the coming of Christ.
III. It's Passionless people that are insensitive. They are insensitive to the situation, the challenges around them will not push them to preach and to pray and fast.
IV. Passionless People are self-centered. If they are after money, that's the only thing they are passionate about, they might be in the church for ten years but they are self-centered.
V. Passionless people are unconcerned for the people that do not have salvation.
VI. Passionless people are complacent.
VII. Passionless People are Nonchalant. They couldn't care about what happens to anyone.
VIII. Passionless people are indifferent.
IX. Passionless People are hypathentic. And they are condemned eventually, I pray we will rise up and wake up to do the necessary things we ought to do.
The people that use to do morning cry years ago, no more. The people that use to preach in the buses years ago, they do that no more, today they are passionless and the world has taken their passion away, the things of the world have taken their passion away and their desire, and the urgency to getting souls saved, the world has taken that away from them, and what they do is to gather people to fill their churches.
POINT ONE: THE PASSION FOR PRICELESS PROFIT.
MARK 8:35-37; EZEKIEL 18:4,27, 30-32; Acts 2:37-38,40-42; Hebrews 10:38-39.
Jesus Christ says, whosoever shall save his life shall lose it, there are people that, all the concern they have is a concern for self preservation and so to preserve their lives, they will not tell people an unwanted truth and an undesirable truth. There are people that are not bold enough, in fact, they are so cowardly, what they talks to their friends and they are not bringing out the real truth, there are people who had their children in this church and their children are going the way of perdition, and the way of perishing, and they are so much afraid and they are cowardly and they cannot tell their children the truth, they are so much after to talk to their children so that they will not lose the respect of their children and the appreciation of their children. The Lord wants us to come on and live for the Salvation of souls, that if we have any connection with anybody at all, it is the connection of the privilege of telling them about their salvation. But whosoever shall lose his life, lose his friends, lose opportunity for Christ and for the Gospel's sake, that he will preach the gospel, he will announce the gospel, that he will tell the gospel at any cost, at all cost, he says the same shall save it.
When believer dies, he will go to heaven, but when dinner die, he will go to hell fire and they are separated forever and ever from God. But a saved soul that dies will be alive with God, be alive with righteousness, he will be alive with the Lord because he has repented, and because he has changed and turned around, and because he came to the Lord and he serve the Lord all through for the rest of his life. You repent and you turn away from everything God hates, and condemns, you turn away from what God frowns at and everything God displeased with, if you come with unbelief, you have not come, if you come with superstition, you have not come if you come without dropping all your transgressions and all your iniquities and all your sins, you have not rarely come ,He wants us to be totally turned unto the Lord and to live thereby, the greatest profit you can make on this earth is the profit of souls coming to the Lord, souls knowing the Lord through you, and souls getting out of darkness and coming to the light, and coming out of their wickedness and coming into the grace of God and coming into the righteousness of God. And for those people to be added into the book of life, the people you're preaching to should be come so conscious of their sin, evil and they will become so conscious of the Judgment of God coming upon them, and they are pricked in their hearts.
Christ has paid the price for their salvation, but that didn't canceled the fact that they have to turn away from their sins and turn away from their iniquity. In your preaching, if you're afraid to tell them that Jesus died, and you're afraid to tell them to repent, if in your presentation of the gospel, you tell them that Jesus died, that's not enough, they have to recognize that Jesus Christ paid the price for the people who are willing to repent and willing to come out of their sins and willing to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and stay away from their sins.
There are people, when they are preaching to the people older than themselves, richer than themselves, educated than themselves and having higher position in society than themselves, before they finish every sentence, they have to add "Pardon me Sir, excuse sir, they have to add, if you don't mind sir ", and is like they are pleading with them that they are not qualify to talk to them, if you're going to preach the word, you're not standing by yourself, you're not standing for yourself, you're standing for Christ and you're in the place of Christ, He sent you, you're His representative and this is what He has committed into our hands, preach the gospel without any apology and without any regrets and without think to change, to doctor and without think to tailor the message to their personality, no, tell them the truth, anyone who want to get saved will not be offended by the message of the gospel, anyone that wants to get to heaven will not be annoyed, anyone that wants to make it to heaven, here is away to heaven, when you're a sincere soul and you want to get to heaven, and you're reason for coming to the church, and you're reasoning of being a worker in the church is that you will know the truth and you will love the truth, and you will practice the truth and you will get your soul saved and keep your soul saved. When you are a passionate person that all you want to know is the truth, and you want to give out the gospel to other people so they can be saved, you're so glad, and you will not be grudging the preacher, you will not be grudging your pastor and evangelist and you will not be grudging the word of God. You will not like preaching that is permissive, you will not like preaching that is superficial and you will not like preaching that is not pointed, and you will not like preaching that is just collect words together, but will not talk to your soul.
There are some people that a little thing will get them offended, a little persecution, a little misunderstanding, a little denial will get them offended, those people are not rarely converts, the converts are the people that hear the word of God and they give themselves to that word of God, and when they hear, they will not reject it.
When God doesn't have pleasure in somebody like Ephraim that is joined unto idols, that one that God does not have pleasure in can not live with God forever and ever, he's separated from God for all eternity, the soul of God has no pleasure in backsliding, the people that draw back, they draw back to perdition, if you're not living to the light of the truth of the gospel you received before, you're not alright, that's why your soul is very important, and the souls of the people around you is very important, your soul is your valuable possession, to get saved and to keep saved is wisest decision, the wisest decision is not about career, is not about business, is not about getting married to the right person, and is not something earthly, but is to get your soul saved and to keep your soul saved.
✔️The most profitable life is a life fully dedicated to saving souls.
✔️ the Value of the soul is greater than materials of the world.
✔️ the soul value is inestimable, that's why JESUS said, for what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
The Value of soul is....
I. Inestimable
II. Immeasurable. You can measure everything of the world but soul is immeasurable.
III. The worth of soul is Incalculable. You cannot calculate the worth of soul.
IV. The value of soul is incomparable. There's nothing on earth you can compare your soul to, and therefore, if you're running after everything and you leave your soul behind, and you lose Christianity behind, and you leave your salvation behind, that's a foolish decision, because the worth of soul is incomparable.
V. The worth of soul is Inexchangeable. It cannot be trade and barter, Satan want to trade with you and he want to get your soul.
VI. Your soul is Infinite value, eternal value, and everlasting value, and so that's why you want to protect your soul and reserve that soul.
Those who are passionate for eternal profit, those are the people that will be praised by Heaven, when you pursue things that are valuable and the things that are worth and inexcahngeable, heaven will shower praises upon you.
POINT TWO: THE PERIL OF PERISHING PEOPLE.
LUKE 12:16-21; ECCLESIASTES 5:15-16; JEREMIAH 17:11; DANIEL 5:27,30; PROVERBS 11:4; LUKE 9:25.
Many people who are perishing, they do not know they are perishing, they are congratulating themselves in the pursuit they have and they think that's the good quality, they don't have passion for their souls, they don't have passion for their Salvation, and they don't have passion for the people around them, all the passion they have is for position, and for politics and for the things of the world.
Many people are not thinking about God, they are not thinking about eternity, they are only thinking about position, many people say they are Christians and yet in their planning for themselves is all about "I will", and as they plan for their children, is all about I will, as they plan about anybody close to them, is all about material gain, they are not passionate for their own souls and for their own salvation, they are not passionate for the Salvation of people who are dear to them, the soul is still in darkness, the soul had no salvation, the soul was still under guilt and condemnation, and their souls is surrounded by material things, their souls is surrounded by money if you live only for the material things, you might be that fool Jesus talks about, if you abandoned the work of God, and you abandon reaching after souls and bringing them into the Kingdom of God, and you only want to get them together for your material gain, you live like a fool and if you die like a fool you will perish like a fool. If you're not thinking about your soul, if you're not making sure that your soul have a saved place in the Kingdom of God, you might be a fool.
✔️money does not make you rich because the currency on earth is not spent in heaven.
✔️ houses and mansions do not make people rich in the sight of God, because those houses and mansions are only sands, cements and stone and they don't have a place of recognition in heaven.
✔️ paper and certificates in the sight of God does not make anyone rich because those papers, even if they bury those certificates with a man when he dies, termites will eat them. Those certificates don't go to heaven.
✔️ Political Position does not make a man rich in the sight of God, even if you control the whole world and you gain the Authority over the whole world, it doesn't make a person rich towards heaven because all those things are the kingdoms of this world, they are not transfer over to heaven. Matthew, Mark and Luke recorded it and they mentioned "the whole world",for what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
Gaining the whole world is an.....
I. Is an Improbable gain. You're not the only one living in the whole world, and it's not possible for you to gain the whole world and gain all the money in the banks of the country and get them. There are people that do not look at the improbability they are running after.
II. Is an Impeeding gain. It impeeds you, it slows you down, you cannot run as fast as you ought to run because the gain of the whole world are upon you.
III. Is an Imprisoning gain. When you gain so much, you imprison yourself.
IV. Is an Impoding gain. It shatters you, it destroys you, the gain is coming and on the inside you're boasting.
V. Is an impoverishing gain. It makes you poor in your soul, it makes you poor in reaching out to the people.
VI. Is an Improper gain. It does not help in souls to be saved.
If somebody gain the whole world, and he loses his own soul and cast away......
I. Is irretrievable loss. Is like when you pour water down, it's an irretrievable, you cannot collect them back, when an egg drops from your hand, and falls in the ground, and it's broken, you cannot collect the whole egg back. If your soul is loses and you lose salvation and then the Lord pronounces lost forever, it's irretrievable.
II. Irreplaceable loss. If you loss any property, you can get another one, but once your soul is lost, it is irreplaceable and it is lost forever.
III. Irreversible loss. If you loss your chance of salvation, once your soul is lost, there's no second chance.
IV. Is an Irreparable loss. When you lose your soul, there is nothing to repair it, a thousand and millions years in hell fire will not repair the loss of your soul.
V. Is an irrefutable loss.
VII. is an irresponsible loss. If you're careless that your soul is lost even Satan will tell you you're irresponsible.
VIII. Is an Irremediable loss. Is gone, is gone, no remedy. My soul will not be lost. If you count material things and you forget your soul, You're lost forever. don't become a person that is taking decision without thinking of the soul of the people, be wise. If you're for riches and for material gains, your end shall be a fool.
There are some pastors that takes money from the church to trade without taking a permission from God, and if such a pastor dies, there's God in heaven that weigh every action, He weigh every events, every ceremony, and every decision. The gain of the whole world is not sufficient to give you salvation, if there's anything to be kept, it should be your soul, the most important thing for you is your soul.
POINT THREE. THE PRUDENCE OF HIS PASSIONATE PURSUIT.
LUKE 19:10; ISAIAH 50:7; LUKE 9:51; PHILIPPIANS 2:3-5; JEREMIAH 45:5; DANIEL 12:3.
What we want is for us to have the mind, the heart and the Spirit of Christ implanted unto us6.
Nebuchadnezzar was a man, but when the spirit of a beast was implanted into him, he ate grass like a beast, he stayed out doors like beast, and he did everything like beast, because out of heart proceeds all the issues of life and since the heart of a beast was given to him, he acted everything like an animal. And when the heart of Christ, the mind of Christ and the Spirit of Christ and the attitude of Christ is implanted In us, we will have the passion and the pursuit and the power and the progress of the Lord Jesus Christ, we will seek and demand and prevail for the mind of Christ until the very passionate pursuit of Christ is implanted into everyone of us IN Jesus Name Amen. When people wanted to made Jesus King, He ran away because His Kingdom is not of this world, He wasn't going to trade what he had with anything in the world and that was His pursuit, if you don't make up your mind, if you don't set your mind like you set an alarm clock, if you don't set your will, if you don't set your life and focus your life not to be diverted left and right, you will be distracted. No-one could divert what Jesus Christ came to do, He wanted to die for the Salvation of the whole world and that was in His mind and He set His face just for that, that's what the Lord wants us to do, He wants us to set our affection, our attention, our goal and our mind and everything we have on what He has left us in the world here to do, and have the mind of Christ and you're not looking for anything that anyone can strife you for, and therefore, you have the mind of Christ, you have His passion and His desire and His pursuit.
Seek after the souls of men, set your mind and your focus on gaining the Salvation of the people.
I. Your Greatest Pursuit is the Salvation of your own soul. Is to make sure that whatever else you're looking for, and whatever else you get and possess, you don't forget the salvation of your own soul.
II. Your Greatest Priority after you are saved is seeking to save sinners. Your priority is not business, is not money, is not politics and is not recognizing and prosperity.
III. Your Greatest passion is the steadfastness of saved souls. People who became Born again through you, you will spend all the money and all the time you have to make them steadfast and saved souls.
IV. Your Greatest Presentation to Christ is the Salvation of saints. You're not just into religion and you're not just into ministry, you want to present sanctifies saints to Christ when He comes.
V. Your Greatest Promise is Saturation with the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is greater than money, He's greater than health and prosperity, and He's greater than any other things that you may think about on earth.
VI. Your Greatest Privilege is service to the Saviour.
VII. Your greatest Prophecy is shinning as stars in the Kingdom of God forever and ever .
Be wise, that this message will not be like the message you always hear, this one will penetrate your heart, this one will occupy your soul, this one will turn you around, and you will live all the monetary policy, you will think of your soul, and you will think of your spouse, of your children, of your Neighbours, and you will think of sinners around you. what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? Be wise and let your soul be important in your own sight, as it is important in the sight of God and you will not throw your soul away to the hand of the devil to take it to hell fire.
✔️Heaven is my goal
✔️ For myself, heaven is my goal.
✔️ for my wife, heaven is my goal.
✔️ for my husband, heaven is my goal.
✔️ for my children, heaven is my goal.
✔️ for all my neighbours around me, heaven is my goal.
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
